Gower Peninsula

Llangennith

The surfing heartland of the Gower Peninsula — big open sands, reliable Atlantic swell and a lively beach community. At low tide the beach merges seamlessly with Rhossili Bay to the south.

About the Beach

Gower's Surfing Capital

Llangennith sits at the northern end of the vast Rhossili Bay system and is widely regarded as the surfing capital of the Gower Peninsula. The beach faces directly into the Atlantic and picks up consistent swell year-round, making it one of the best surf spots in Wales. Multiple surf schools operate here in summer, making it a great place to learn.

At the northern end of the beach, the small tidal island of Burry Holms is accessible at low tide — a worthwhile detour with views back across the whole bay.
