Gower Peninsula

Broughton Bay

A wide, wild bay at the north-west tip of Gower — extensive dune systems, big open skies and some of the finest sunsets on the peninsula. A peaceful escape far from the summer crowds.

About the Beach

North Gower's Wild Dunescape

Broughton Bay sits at the north-west corner of the Gower Peninsula, overlooking the Loughor Estuary and Carmarthen Bay. The beach is backed by one of the most extensive dune systems on the Gower coast, with footpaths running through the dunes and connecting to the Wales Coast Path in both directions.

The bay faces north-west and catches spectacular evening light — it's widely regarded as one of the best spots on the peninsula for watching the sun set. Visitor numbers are much lower here than on the south Gower coast, making it a genuine escape even in peak season.
