Gower Peninsula

Port Eynon

A popular, gently shelving south-Gower beach with a strong history of Blue Flag awards — good facilities, easy access and a charming village right behind the dunes.

About the Beach

A Reliable South Gower Classic

Port Eynon Bay is one of the Gower's most popular and well-equipped beaches — three-quarters of a mile of golden sand backed by dunes, with the village and its amenities immediately to hand. The beach shelves gently, making it one of the safer swimming spots on the peninsula, and it's popular for diving, sailing, surfing and windsurfing, with a slipway for launching boats.

A short walk west along the foreshore leads past the ruins of an old salt house — historically rumoured to have been used as cover for smugglers — to quieter sands toward Horton.
