Gower Peninsula

Caswell Bay

A broad, well-equipped sandy bay popular with families and beginner surfers — Blue Flag awarded and one of the most accessible beaches on the Gower, with a coastal path linking to Langland Bay.

About the Beach

The East Gower Gateway

Caswell Bay is the closest major Gower beach to Swansea city centre — around 20–25 minutes by car — and as a result it's one of the busiest. What it trades in seclusion it more than compensates for with excellent facilities and reliable surf. The enclosed bay keeps waves manageable for beginners, and a dedicated surf school (Surfability UK CIC) offers lessons tailored for people with additional needs alongside general tuition.

The rocky pools at the eastern end of the beach are brilliant for children, and a well-maintained cliff-top path leads west to Langland Bay in around 25 minutes.
