Gower Peninsula

Blue Pool Bay

A quiet, picturesque bay on the north-west Gower coast, famous for its beautiful tidal rock pool. Reached on foot from Broughton and best experienced around low tide.

About the Bay

The Hidden Tidal Pool of North Gower

Blue Pool Bay takes its name from the striking tidal rock pool that fills with clear seawater at each tide, creating a natural swimming pool in the limestone. It's a genuinely quiet spot — the footpath approach keeps visitor numbers low — and the rock pool itself is one of the more unusual natural features on the Gower coast.

The bay is best visited around low tide when the pool is visible and the surrounding beach is at its widest. At high tide most of the sand disappears, so timing your visit is important.
